Support Rex's Celebration of Life

There aren’t enough words in the English dictionary to express how much Rex meant to us and this world, nor how incredible of a human being he was. So here are just a few…

He was a faithful follower of Jesus, a loving supportive husband to our sweet Nicole, an ever-present father to his 3 amazing kids- Lyndsey, Jay, and Tyson, a committed fur-dad to KodaBear and Zoe, a caring and thoughtful son to his parents Bien and Aurora, and the best, most encouraging older brother to CJ and Rosendo. Among so many other roles— an adoring Ninong and uncle to his nieces and nephews, the eldest Kuya to his many cousins whom he led with comedy, humility, and integrity all the days of our lives. And the dearest friend and most positive mentor to all— a true servant leader in every sense of the word.

As many know, he was diagnosed with lung cancer on 7/5/2023. He documented what he dubbed his “Extraordinary Journey” over this last year and there wasn’t a day he didn’t fight courageously with all the strength within him while still being there for and checking in on others. I’d call that extraordinary. HE was nothing short of extraordinary. And he is so sorely missed and so deeply loved, and will be forevermore.

He wrote on his blog in his own words that he had an “undying commitment to growth relying on relationships, compassion, and humility.” And to “Be a beacon of life, love, and compassion.” And that’s what Rex was to so many of us. A great beacon. Even in his last blog, he ended it with gratitude for others.

So excellent work, Rex— way to practice what you preached. We are so dang proud of you.

It’s time for you to rest easy in Paradise. go with Grace and Peace. Until we meet again. we love you, Kuya.

At this time, we’re organizing this fund on behalf of the family. if you feel so inclined to support, any amount small or big is much appreciated. Contributions will be applied to expenses associated with Rex’s Celebration of Life, and any other relevant costs to help alleviate and aide the family in focusing on processing this great loss.

As Rex ended many of his blogs with Bible verses, here are some of Rex’s favorite scriptures:
- Gen 26:24
- Phil 4:13
- Phil 4:6
