Stand by Reverend Helen: Fire Relief Effort
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends:
My aunt Deloris Jones (Corona, CA) the matriarch of the St. Cyr family, along with myself, Nadine Roberts Cornish (Denver, CO) Deloris' niece, is spearheading an effort to support our elder cousin and her family who lost everything in the Eaton Fire.
Our cousin Reverend Helen McMurray and her son Kenneth Askari Daniels and wife, Annette, lost EVERYTHING in the Eaton Fire in Altadena, CA. The evacuation happened so quickly that Helen wasn’t even able to grab her cellphone.
Reverend Helen is in a wheelchair, recovering from a stroke, and is dealing with other illnesses and requires special accommodations. Rev. Helen has spent her life giving and doing for others and has been a presiding elder in the AME Zion Church for a number of years. She is being cared for by her son.
Right now, the family is staying in a hotel and are facing tremendous uncertainties. Over the years, Rev. Helen's home has been a family gathering place, filled with love, hosting many of our family holidays. This quaint abode has been a treasured home to many, and we are all saddened over this loss and stand with the family in their commitment to rebuild.
Funds that we raise will be used for transportation as the vehicle used to transport Rev. Helen was lost in the fires.
So many have lost so much and we realize that the need is overwhelming. If you are inclined, please keep them in your prayers, and let’s come together to support them during this difficult time.
