Support Reverend James Hodge's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Brianna Hodge. I am starting this go fund me on behalf of my dad, Reverend James Hodge. On April 25th, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. The tumor is over 10 Cm so they cannot cut it out. He can't have a transplant. He will have to have immunotherapy for the rest of his life, every 2 to 3 weeks. They're going to see if he is a candidate for Y90, which is a direct blast of chemo/radiation to the cancer in his liver. It is a one time treatment. The cancer doctor here told my dad that people with his diagnosis ordinarily do not live as long. He also is going to go to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. We want to see all options and figure out if there's anything else that can be done. We live in Georgia, so he will be having to fly out and stay there, if they are going to do treatments there.
Cancer takes a toll on you mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. He's already had to miss a lot of work and will be continuing to miss a lot more. Going from a two person income household to just one, has been really rough on my dad and step mom, Cynthia Hodge. The cancer and treatments will take its toll on his body. But his spirit and mind is so strong. He has full faith in God. God can work miracles! It's not a done deal for him yet. He has hope and faith and he's never been one to be defeated and call it quits. He will fight to the very end. But however much time he has, I do not want financial struggles to be a stress on them, and cancer is expensive to treat. He needs to be able to focus on himself, getting better, and spending time with his family. Enjoying life. He has a loving wife, who is caring for him, missing work herself. This is really just one less stress I want burdening them.
He still has so much left to do on this Earth. I have grown up, but he still has 3 grandchildren growing up. I have a 15 year old son, straight A's and plays football. There's graduations and games to still go to! I also have 3 year old twin girls. They absolutely adore their pawpaw. He has to be here for these babies and to see them grow up. Please pray for my dad, our family, and for his health. Please send positive and healing energy and thoughts his way. I just want him to be able to enjoy the time he does have. Make lots of memories with his family. Anything will help. If you're not able to donate financially, that’s perfectly fine! Just please share this and pray. We appreciate everything! Thank you.
