Support Reverend Dr. Keith Johnson's Care
Donation protected
Reverend Doctor Keith Johnson has been providing spiritual guidance for nearly all his 85-years. He faithfully served the Lord for over 60 years, with 40 of them at Hales Corners Lutheran Church. He shepherded various congregations by ministering through baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals, and counseling any and every individual who came to him with their own personal problems. He may have even had a sermon or two in there over the years!
While Pr. Johnson still possesses a cheerful demeanor that everyone knows and loves, his health has been severely impacted by hydrocephalus (balance and walking) and Alzheimer’s/Dementia (cognitive) diagnoses. Unfortunately, he is now wheelchair bound and needs full-time assistance for nearly all daily functions, such as moving from his bed to a chair, changing clothes, or even showering. He also still ‘recognizes’ most people’s faces, yet struggles to carry on a conversation with them. He typically does not recall names, including his wife Sylvia, along with Carolyn, Brian and Jennifer (daughters and son). For these reasons, Pr. Johnson recently moved into Elizabeth Residence in New Berlin, WI.
Above and beyond the physical and emotional impact the recent move has caused, regrettably, this has also caused a financial challenge for Pr. Johnson & Sylvia as they must pay out-of-pocket for the first 100 days of services, along with some upfront fees at the facility before his insurance benefits are accessible to him. Therefore, any and every donation made, no matter how small or big, will add up and have a significant impact to help Pr. Johnson receive the full care and support he needs and deserves. All excess and unused funds will be forwarded to the Hales Corners Lutheran Foundation.
