If you weren't sure if God is still in the business of performing miracles, let me tell you about Reverend Jonas. On the evening of June 3, 2025, our beloved Rev. Jonas, while attending an online class, had a sudden medical event. His classmates, witnessing the emergency live on Zoom, alerted their instructor, who instructed a classmate to call 911. That quick action gave him a fighting chance. We would later learn that Rev. Jonas suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke caused by a rare arteriovenous fistula (AVF), a condition doctors labeled as so uncommon. That evening,

At the hospital, scans revealed a catastrophic brain bleed. Doctors told us Rev. Jonas faced a 97% mortality rate, just a 3% chance of survival. We heard phrases that no family ever wants to hear: "progressive vegetative state," "little neurological recovery," and "prepare for the worst."

But God.

For three agonizing weeks in the ICU, Rev. Jonas lay in a medically induced coma, breathing through a ventilator. We clung to Jesus’ promise that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Each day we prayed over him, worshipped the Lord at his bedside, and refused to let go of hope.

Then came miracle after miracle. Rev. Jonas stabilized; he opened his eyes, and he squeezed fingers. Finally, Rev. Jonas was moved to a long-term acute care hospital, where he began the hard work of relearning to breathe on his own, to speak, and to swallow. Next, he transferred to an intensive neuro-recovery hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, three hours from home, to receive the best therapy possible for movement, memory, and speech. After nearly three months in hospitals and rehabilitation, Rev. Jonas returned home in mid-August, a living miracle. Through every sleepless night, his wife, Carlie, never left his side, covering him in prayer and unwavering love.

Many of you know Rev. Jonas as a faithful servant of God who loves to learn, laugh, and praise. The outpouring of prayers, encouragement, and even visits during our hospital stays has deeply touched us. Many of you also know that Rev. Jonas' ministry extends both locally and globally, from supporting homelessness initiatives and civic engagement in his community to leading and empowering missions in Haiti and beyond. His calling has always been to uplift others, especially through education and technology.

He has a deep love of computers and has a mission of improving digital literacy among all generations, helping both the young and old navigate new tools for learning and growth. In all of this, the Lord has used Rev. Jonas’ unique gifts to spread the Gospel across borders, screens, and hearts, blending his passion for technology with his purpose in ministry.

We are profoundly grateful for how so many of you have shown up, through prayers, visits, calls, and encouragement. Your love has sustained our family and reminded us that we are not alone in this journey. Ecclesiastes reminds us, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” This season has tested us, yet revealed God’s purpose and power. Now, as Rev. Jonas continues his recovery, many have asked how they can help.

As Rev. Jonas continues his recovery, we are praying for support for specialized therapies at an aphasia center to help him retrain his brain and rebuild communication skills. Every donation, every prayer, every act of kindness is part of this miracle. As Psalm 138:8 declares, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” Rev. Jonas' recovery is proof that God is still in the business of healing, restoring, and doing the impossible.
