Support Rett’s Battle Against Two Rare Cancers

Seven-year-old Rett is about to face the most critical fight of his life.

Later this month, he will be admitted for a life-saving bone marrow transplant—his best chance to overcome not one, but two rare and aggressive childhood cancers.

Just after his fifth birthday, Rett was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). For two years, he has fought with incredible strength and resilience.

Then came devastating news.

With a year and a half still left in leukemia treatment, Rett was diagnosed with a second cancer—Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL), also affecting his T cells. This combination is extraordinarily rare, leaving doctors without a clear roadmap and forcing them to fight both diseases at the same time.

Now, there is a path forward.

Rett’s sister is a match and will serve as his bone marrow donor—an incredible gift of love. This transplant offers real hope, but it comes with an intense and demanding road of treatment, long hospital stays, and recovery.

Rett is the fifth of six children and the light of his family’s home—a math whiz, LEGO master, and joke wizard whose laugh brings joy even in the hardest moments.

Our families met on the oncology floor nearly two years ago, when Rett and my son, Quintin, were both diagnosed with cancer just one month apart. Since then, they’ve prayed for and supported each other every step of the way. Having walked the childhood cancer road ourselves—including bone marrow transplants—we have seen how heavy and overwhelming this journey can be.

To be by Rett’s side, his mom, Emily, made the difficult decision to close her dance studio. Between hospital stays, time away from work, and ongoing care, the financial strain is overwhelming.

Your support will help cover food during long hospital stays, gas for constant travel, lost income, and small but meaningful items that bring comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

If you’re able, please donate or share this page. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps lighten the burden and allows this family to focus on what matters most: helping Rett heal.

Let’s stand with Rett in this fight
