Today, I’m writing from a place of transparency, vulnerability, and exhaustion. I am depleted.

I am reaching out with a sense of extreme urgency.

My children and I are in need of your help. My vehicle was repossessed today at 3 A.M. Although I made partial payments the finance company decided to have it towed until I paid the full contract balance. I don’t have any money. We will be homeless in July if we cannot come up with the money. My daughter’s health is declining, she has had two blood transfusions within the past two weeks. She needs to be seen by a physician on the 24th, however, I am unable to now without transportation.

As a single parent without support and no other family I don’t know where my children and I will be if we do not have a vehicle or home.

I don’t need advice. I need action.

I have been unemployed from a permanent position for 13 months. That’s a long time to navigate the emotional, financial, and professional toll of job searching.

I have done all the things I should be doing to secure a job:

• tailor my resume countless times for each role I have submitted an application to.

• Applied to 3000+ roles I’m a fit for including roles I am overqualified for.

• Network.

• Applied for government assistance.

We deserve what some take for granted:

• A warm home where we can feel safe.

• Fresh food in our fridge.

• A vehicle to take us to school, work, appointments on our time.

• A job that not only meets our needs but allows us to enjoy some of life’s wants.

• REST—the ability to finally exhale after thirteen months of struggle.
