Help Retired Mesquite Police K9 Axel Walk Pain-Free Again
Axel is a retired Mesquite Police K9 who proudly served and protected our community throughout his career. Like many working dogs, years of dedication and physical demands have taken a toll on his body. Axel has now been diagnosed with a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) and urgently needs orthopedic surgery to relieve his pain and restore his mobility.
Without surgery, Axel faces chronic pain, limited movement, and the risk of further injury. The recommended procedure will stabilize his knee, allow proper healing, and give him the chance to enjoy a comfortable, active retirement he truly deserves.
As Axel’s handler takes on his medical responsibilities after retirement, The cost of this specialized orthopedic surgery, along with diagnostics, medications, and rehabilitation, is more than he can manage alone. We are asking for your help to give this loyal K9 the care he needs after spending his life caring for others.
Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward Axel’s surgery and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.
Thank you for supporting Axel and honoring the service and sacrifice of our retired police K9.
