Support Respite Care for Dessie
Donation protected
My name is John, and I’m reaching out for help as I care for my wife, Dessie, who is living with Alzheimer’s. Dessie was diagnosed in 2019 and is 60 years old today. Since her diagnosis, we’ve faced this journey together, and as the disease progresses, it’s become more challenging for both of us. Dessie still lights up when she sees friendly faces, but daily life has changed so much. I’m her primary caregiver, and while I do my best to provide comfort and stability, the demands are constant and exhausting.
Despite working hard all my life, I’ve found myself in a situation where the state and government programs can’t offer the respite care we desperately need. I make too much to qualify for assistance, but not enough to pay for everything Dessie needs. I’m a blue-collar Middle Class
American, and I never imagined I’d have to ask for help. But the reality is that I need a break to recharge so I can continue caring for Dessie with the patience and love she deserves. Even a short period of respite care would make a critical difference for both of us, giving me the strength to keep going and ensuring Dessie is safe and supported.
Your support would help cover the cost of respite care, allowing me to step back briefly and return to Dessie refreshed. Any help you can give means the world to us. Thank you for reading our story and considering a donation to help us through this difficult time.
