Support Resilient Artist After Flood Devastation
Donation protected
My mom, Raphaella Vaisseau, has been living her dream, sharing her art and joy with the Asheville community and people around the world at her gallery in the River Arts District. That was until Hurricane Helene’s devastation struck Western North Carolina and catastrophic flooding destroyed the area. In an instant, her life’s work and primary source of income are gone. Thankfully she and her rescue cat, Willow, have survived, but they are still living without basic services such as water and communication through phone and internet. Unfortunately, her business insurance will not cover floods and FEMA only supports personal loss, not businesses. She will apply for a disaster loan through the Small Business Administration, but payments with interest will add to her expenses. She is heartbroken, but resilient. She has already started painting through her grief, but her layered, intricate art takes many months and sometimes years to create. Raphaella needs the support now of friends, patrons, animal and art lovers, and creative souls. If you can help my mom, especially if you know her and own her inspirational art, please make a donation in any amount to this campaign to support her loss of income while she rebuilds and purchases materials to continue to work.
Another way to support Raphaella is to purchase high quality prints of her art at heartfulart.com, Amazon, or Etsy, which she safely stored at her home office. Please be patient with delivery time and flexible with mat color selections, since she will only have access to inventory she has on site. Thank you for your support.
