My name is Marie Vanessa Mandarin Calou, Chagossian lead. I was born in exile after my parents were forcibly removed from our British homeland, the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, in the late 1960s and early 1970s. That injustice has shaped my lifelong commitment to justice, dignity and the right of our people to determine their own future.
I’m fundraising £100,000 to support the safe, dignified resettlement of British Chagossian families. Urgent humanitarian aid is needed to deliver potable water, temporary and long-term shelter, sanitation, medical supplies, transport and rebuilding support so families can return home securely. Our First Minister Misley Mandarin and elders like Michel (72), born on Île de Coin, are still searching for clean water. Please donate to provide emergency water, shelter, essential supplies and practical support. SAVE CHAGOS and self determination
