Help WNC Mercy Fund Animal Rescue after Helene's Devastation
Tax deductible
Mercy Fund is a small 501c3 animal rescue in Western North Carolina doing big things after the devastation from Tropical Storm Helene. I know the owner, Joy, who was a nurse whose heart called to also rescue animals. Her favorite rescues are seniors or those with complex medical issues. Many found safe haven for the rest of their days with Joy, or new forever homes in our peaceful mountains.
Marion experienced devastation from Helene with loss of life, including the tragic loss of a volunteer, who refused to leave her dogs behind. Mercy Fund has the goal of rescuing remaining residents and pets. Joy is distributing food and supplies to area residents with volunteers dodging debris to get to their homes. Please consider helping them in their mission. They are guided by faith at Mercy Fund. Any assistance will go directly to the pets and people, in an area that hasn't been reached by much aid. We are thankful the many animals at Mercy Fund are safe, but there are many soon to be arrive. Please help them continue their mission, as they help the pets and people survive this tragic storm. Mercy Fund welcomes donations for pets and people, or volunteers to distribute aid at:
167 Burleson Road Marion, N.C. 28752
A note from Joy yesterday after helping to feed or care for 88 people, 4 horses, 46 chickens, 8 goats, 6 pigs, 4 rabbits, 8 cows, 36 cats, and 28 dogs.
"One thing about us mountain folk you might knock us down, but we don't stay down long. We get up, wipe ourselves off, and get back to helping our neighbors. I don't know how to thank you all for all you have done for our community. We love you stay strong we can do this together .
Soon as we can get some more food we will do it again."
Bless you for kindness.
