Support Rent Relief for a Cancer Survivor
Tax deductible
A Senior. A Union. A Breakthrough.
She’s a cancer survivor who has lived in her apartment for 20 years. Her income is just $1,140 a month. A $40 rent increase may seem small—but it almost forced her out.
That’s when The National Tenant Union™ (NTU™) stepped in.
For the first time ever, a property management company in Forest Park, IL agreed to accept third-party rent payments from a tenant union. We're covering her $40 monthly increase starting immediately, and this campaign will stop that rent hike through June 8.
We’re raising $580 to fully fund this:
$480 = One year of rent relief ($40 x 12 months)
$100 = NTU™ annual membership dues
After June 8, the campaign shifts. Every dollar beyond $580 will go toward sponsoring the first 1,000 NTU™ memberships, helping renters everywhere gain support and protection.
If we raise more than what’s needed for her this year, we’ll continue to support her stability—and build the fund to help more tenants in crisis.
Why This Matters
This isn’t charity—it’s infrastructure.
NTU™ is building a nationwide system to stabilize renters, stop unfair evictions, and push back against rent inflation. We're using policy, tech, and real-world advocacy to create a new model—governed by the people who live it.
