Support Ren's Journey to Specialized Care

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We are reaching out to ask for your help for the Lamoreaux family, particularly Ren; a bright, witty, hilarious 7-year-old who has recently been diagnosed with an extremely atypical form of autism. This news has been both overwhelming and heart-wrenching for our family, as it has become clear that Ren urgently needs specialized care and mental health support to thrive.
Ren, along with his entire family, faces unique challenges that affect all aspects of daily life. The specialized therapies and interventions he needs are costly and beyond our family’s financial means. Our healthcare system is failing Ren (along with many others), making the care he needs impossible to reach.
With your support, we hope to provide Ren with:
- Intensive behavioral and developmental therapies and medication tailored to his unique needs… ideally by joining an inpatient program at Primary Children’s Behavioral Health Center, the only pediatric behavioral health unit in the state that will allow Ren and his parents to be together to get the help they need.
- Access to specialized mental health care professionals who understand his diagnosis.
- Options to explore out of state services that will require time off of work and costs associated with travel.
- Exploring more Functional medicine options which can be extremely helpful, but are not covered by insurance.
- Relevant in home care or support services that may arise.
- Advocating for systemic changes within the healthcare/insurance world.
- Many of you may be aware that Ren’s youngest brother Rome, has also been diagnosed with Autism. Rome is two, and currently participates in occupational and speech therapy. We hope to continue to make sure that Rome gets the help he needs to make progress and build a strong foundation for whatever the future holds for him.
The cost of this care is substantial, and while we are doing everything we can, we are humbly asking for your assistance. Every donation, big or small, will make a significant difference in Justin, Alex, Ren, Tucker, and Rome’s life and help Ren to receive the care he so desperately needs.
