Reno, my son's father, was in a devastating accident on 4/9/25 while riding his electric unicycle. He was struck by a vehicle, thrown more than 20 feet, and collided with a steel pole barricade. The impact left him with a shattered hip joint, cracked hip socket, broken femur, lung contusion, internal bleeding, skull fractures, and a brain bleed. He was careflighted to the hospital, and it’s truly a miracle that he survived such a traumatic event.

The road to recovery will be long and difficult. Reno is facing 3-6 months off work, and the medical bills and cost of ongoing care are overwhelming. On top of that, our family is trying to stay close to the hospital, which is three hours from home, so that his son and I can be there to support him every step of the way. The financial strain is significant, and we are doing everything we can to manage these unexpected challenges.
