Many of you may already know Rene and her family. To those that are new to her story, thank you for taking the time to read about her and thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Our family is very close-knit and not used to asking for help, but today we find ourselves in urgent need. Rene has been in the ICU since Saturday, December 6th, battling through multiple lung infections that have left her unresponsive. Despite her unresponsive state, she continues to fight hard every day. Currently, her condition has not become worse in recent days, but her improvements have been a slow struggle.

Rene is not a stranger to fighting. She has already had a battle with breast cancer and triumphed over that challenge. This was a huge battle for her, but she fought it and won. I know that she will also win this battle, but it is the biggest one she has ever faced.

We pray that it’s God’s will for Rene to recover from the ICU. Once she is out, she will face the undeniable challenge of recovery, which could include physical therapy, a long-term rehabilitation center, or more. Rene and her family are struggling financially. Her daughter, Vicki, could not work for the first two weeks during this battle. She just recently was able to work partial days, 16-20 hours per week, as the rest of her time is spent by Rene’s bedside. Rene and the family are in need of financial help to get through this difficult time and the struggles that will continue once Rene gets out of the ICU.
