Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,
We are reaching out on behalf of Rene Chi, a dedicated Northside Independent School District (NISD) bus driver, beloved father of three, and devoted husband. For the past two months, Rene has been courageously battling Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)—a rare and debilitating neurological disorder that has significantly impaired both his motor and cognitive function.
What began as general weakness and fatigue has progressed into a severe condition, leading to a recent hospital stay lasting over a week. Rene remains hospitalized and is facing an uncertain road ahead. Doctors anticipate he will require extensive rehabilitation, with no clear prognosis currently in sight.
Rene is more than just a bus driver—he is the cornerstone of his family and the primary provider for his wife and three children. With Rene unable to work and mounting medical bills piling up, his family is experiencing not only emotional distress but serious financial hardship.
We are humbly asking for your support to help cover:
Ongoing and future medical expenses
Rehabilitation and therapy costs
Lost income during Rene’s recovery
Essential living expenses for his family
While our initial fundraising goal is $10,000, the total financial need is estimated to exceed $24,000. No matter the size, every donation brings Rene and his family one step closer to stability, healing, and hope.
Your generosity will help lighten the burden for a family navigating one of the most difficult times of their lives. If you cannot contribute financially, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach others who may be able to support.
Thank you for standing with Rene and his family during this time of great need.
