My name is Rene Villarreal. I saved a man's life on the highway in San Antonio, Texas, and I performed the stop of an unconscious drivers vehicle with my truck, only because that’s the kind of person I am. I acted from the goodness of my heart, and I’ve received an overwhelming amount of support from people who asked me to do this and share my story—I’m grateful to each and every one of you.
We are not asking for funds for ourselves but raising funds to give to the individual who’s family has requested him to remain private. He is a veteran, so upon learning that we wanted to make sure he has funds to cover medical expenses, travel to and from doctor appointments and money to cover any time off from work.
A note from the family:
y’all are welcome to provide the following …..
“He is currently in the ICU and expected to make a full recovery. We are eternally grateful to Rene for reacting so quickly and getting in front of him, the nurse who immediately began CPR, and to the other good samaritans that stepped in, without hesitation. We truly believe God placed each of these individuals in his path at the exact moment they were needed, and we will always be deeply thankful for their actions.”
