Support Renee's Recovery and Healing Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
My name is Renee, and I am reaching out to ask for your support during a challenging time in my life. On December 17th, I underwent outpatient surgery to address complications from overuse of my right foot. This surgery was necessary to alleviate severe pain and improve my mobility, but recovery is expected to take up to 90 days.
As someone who typically works 60 hours a week to support myself, this extended period of limited mobility and healing has left me unable to maintain my usual workload. This sudden loss of income is overwhelming, as I face mounting medical bills, physical therapy expenses, and the day-to-day costs of living.
To add another layer to this challenge, I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)—a connective tissue disorder that affects joints, skin, and blood vessels. For those unfamiliar, EDS causes hypermobility in joints, frequent injuries, chronic pain, and slower healing. Everyday activities often become a test of endurance. Managing this condition has taught me resilience, but it also means recovery from surgeries like this one is more complex and demanding.
I am humbly asking for your assistance to cover essential expenses during this time of healing. Your support will go toward:
• Rent and utilities for the next three months
• Medical bills and physical therapy sessions
• Basic living expenses such as groceries and transportation to follow-up appointments
No contribution is too small—every dollar truly makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation. Your kindness and generosity will help me get back on my feet—literally—and return to the life I’ve worked so hard to build.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Renee
