Help Renee Regain Her Independence

Hi, my name is Beth Little, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my lifelong friend, Renee Beets Milliorn, and her husband Danny.

Three years ago, Renee fought for her life against COVID-19 and won. She made an incredible recovery, retired from her accounting career to focus on her health, and was finally getting back to living life on her own terms. Renee and Danny, both 60, were embracing their empty nest years and looking forward to traveling and enjoying this new chapter together.

Then, just as life was returning to normal, tragedy struck again. in October 2025, Renee suffered a cardiac event, and an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) on her spine, leaving her paralyzed from L4 down. In an instant, everything changed.

Renee is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She's a fighter who has already overcome so much, and she's determined to adapt to this new reality with grace and strength. But she needs help to regain her independence and quality of life.

Why We're Asking for Help:

While the Milliorns have good insurance that covers medical care, it doesn't cover the essential modifications needed for Renee to live safely and independently at home:

Home Modifications ($50,000 estimated):

Bathroom adaptations for accessible showering

Widening doorways throughout the home for wheelchair access

Other necessary accessibility features for smooth, automated daily living

Accessible Mobility Van ($50,000 estimated):

A wheelchair-accessible van so Renee won't be homebound

The ability to continue traveling, which has always been one of Renee's greatest passions

Freedom to participate in life beyond the walls of her home.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward making Renee's home safe and accessible, and purchasing a mobility van that will give her back her freedom. These aren't luxuries—they're necessities that will determine whether Renee can live with dignity and independence or remain isolated and dependent.

At 60 years old, facing this challenge after already surviving COVID-19, Renee deserves the chance to live her life, not just exist. She has been in a rehab facility but is expected to come home on January 13th. Danny has been her rock through everything, but they can't do this alone.
