In Loving Memory of Renée Sarah Lapointe — Supporting Her Family & Honoring Her Legacy

We are heartbroken to share the loss of Renée Sarah Lapointe, a beautiful soul whose light touched so many lives in our community.

Renée was known not only for her talent, but for her heart, discipline, and kindness. She was a multi-sport athlete who excelled in soccer, basketball, and tennis, and she proudly held numerous local and Potato Blossom pageant titles. She was a dedicated dancer for over 16 years at The Maine Dance Academy , training in pointe, tumbling, and performance, and she inspired countless younger girls who looked up to her as a role model. Renée was an all around entertainer with vocal skills and is known for her many amazing performances over the years.

Renée worked hard in high school balancing academics , extra curricular activites and jobs at Tasty Food , Borderview and The Van Buren rec. This allowed her to buy her very first car when she was 16. In college and until her passing , she was employed at Texas Roadhouse as a server.

Academically, Renée shined just as brightly. She was an Honor Society member and was the Honor Society President , ranked in the top three of her graduating class at Van Buren Secondary School , began college at just 17 years old, and graduated from the University of Maine last spring. Her drive, intelligence, and determination were evident in everything she did.

In recent years, Renée struggled quietly with mental health challenges .Like so many, she fought battles that were not always visible to the world. She was deeply loved, and her loss has left an immeasurable void.

This GoFundMe has been created to support her family with funeral and burial expenses, and to establish a scholarship in Renée’s name , one that will honor her legacy by supporting young people who reflect her passion, resilience, and dedication.

Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping Renée’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will carry Renée forward by remembering who she was, the joy she brought into the world, and the many lives she changed.

Thank you for helping us honor a life that mattered so deeply.
