I will soon be undergoing a clinical trial and bone marrow transplant at City of Hope in Duarte. We’ve reached the end of all available treatment options locally, and both Kaiser and Stanford have recommended this next step. This means I’ll need to be away from my support system for up to four months, and facing this unexpected reality has been emotionally and financially overwhelming. There are many expenses I never anticipated, and trying to manage them on top of treatment has been incredibly difficult.
The funds raised will help cover transportation between the Bay Area and City of Hope, ensuring I can safely travel for treatment and that my family can visit when possible. Your support will also help my parents, Chuck and Darlene, be with me during recovery—something that brings me tremendous comfort. In addition, there are housing costs for the required stay after I’m discharged, along with food and transportation expenses, and your generosity will help ease that burden. This support will also allow David and Jason—my husband and son—to visit when they can, and help cover lodging while I’m in the hospital or allow them to stay with me if I’m able to secure housing nearby. We will also use these funds to help offset medical expenses.
I’ve always been the one taking care of others, the one who shows up when people need help. Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me. But my friends reminded me that it’s okay to receive support during difficult times—and that’s exactly what this is.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward keeping my family close during this long stay and allowing me to focus on what matters most: getting through treatment and coming home healthy.
Your kindness and generosity truly mean the world to us during this difficult time.
