Hey everyone, it’s Ren’s mates Nick and Liz here, and we wanted to get this important message out to her incredible Community of friends and family.
As many of you would know by now, In June, Renee began to have some seizures in her left arm and leg.....and after many tests and a brain biopsy, Ren has been diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastma - the most aggressive type of brain tumour. Following the biopsy, Ren also had a bleed on the brain - and woke from surgery to find that she was unable to use her left arm and leg...leaving her quite disabled.
She’s back at home now with with Stef, Leon and Archer - and is 3 weeks into a 6 week intense radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment program with the hope of stopping the growth of the tumour for a bit. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our beautiful friend - but as always, she’s handling it with her unvanquished stoicism, energy and positivity.
Most of us know what a gifted Violinist Renee is. Wether that’s through playing in bands with Her, or being in the audience to watch her play and hear her beautiful voice - or through having her teach one of our children. Unfortunately, due to Ren’s acquired brain injury, she can’t do any of these things at the moment - which means that aside from dealing with this terrible news, the family have also lost an important part of their household income.
Once Renee finishes her treatment - she’s going to want to get some autonomy back in her life so she can start getting busy living life again. To do this, she’s going to need some help with things like a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Renee hasn’t had much go her way over the last few weeks...... but what she does have in spades is a community of creative, supporting and loving friends and family who care about her deeply. We’d like to reach out to all of you and ask you to support Renee and her wonderful little family by donating some of your hard earned cash to this crowd funding campaign. We know it's a challenging time for everyone at the moment so any amount at all is very welcome. All proceeds from this campaign will go straight to Renee - giving her some much needed funds to help her adjust to this new life that’s been thrust upon her
Please feel free, when you donate, to leave a message on the GoFundMe page for Ren and her family.
