Renata Renee Kessler has adapted her father's Holocaust diary into a play titled, "The Hiding Place."
The play focuses on the Polish family who risked their lives to hide 24 Jews in Lwow, Poland (currently, Lviv, Ukraine) from 1942-1944, during the Nazi reign of terror. "How could someone do such a thing?" is what the play explores.
Based on The Wartime Diary of Edmund Kessler, Academic Studies Press, Boston, 2010, the play reveals the conflicts and struggles to survive by both the Jews and the Poles who hid them.
Funds are needed to cover production costs for this labor of love.
