Support Rena in recovering from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hi everyone! I’ve been deeply appreciating my new home on Cherokee land in Asheville, NC, but unfortunately, the past few days have been really hard and scary. My house is without water, power, or cell service and also infested with fleas, and I’m writing this now from a crowd outside the public library—one of the few spots where there’s wifi. The city says it may be a few weeks before there’s potable water. I’ve also lost significant income because of the storm. Thankfully, my housemate returned from a 2-week road trip yesterday and brought me water and siphoned some gas into my car, and I’m going to try to evacuate tomorrow morning to my friend Grace’s house in Greensboro.
There are a few ways I’m strategizing to recuperate income and offset expenses, and this GoFundMe is one of them. I’m bashful to post it because there are millions of humans in more dire conditions, and also because God-willing I’ll be launching a fundraiser for my second album in November—but/and, I was not prepared enough for this hurricane and I’ve already been leaning into my savings for this move. Your support means the world.
Sending you huge love, prayers for healing, and wishes for Shanah Tovah U’Metukah (a good and sweet new year for those observing),
