Friends - you have already helped much by your expressions of care and concern for our friends and family during Hurricane Melissa. I am deeply grateful for all the concern shown then - I absolutely was comforted by your emotional support and prayers.

Now, however, I am asking for material help to bring some relief to the actual victims of Melissa, to our loved ones still reeling from Melissa's disastrous after-effects on Jamaica and its people. Honestly, it has been gut-wrenching to see the devastation wrought on the island. So many families - including my mom - friends and neighbors without roofs, electricity, water, food. Many more rendered completely homeless by this hurricane's unprecedented wrath and historic strength.

These families absolutely need a way to recover. Too many are in far away, remote areas - literally cut off from the needed support and resources that may be accessible to others. These are the people I am aiming to reach with your help and generosity. I am shipping food and household supplies within the next week. I will also be traveling to Jamaica in early December, and would love to be able to extend your generosity in person then.
