Help Remi get vital surgeries
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Amy and I’m raising money for a very unexpected surgery for our 17-month-old, Remi girl. Remi came to us as a rescue at just 8 weeks old. She’s a pitty mixed breed bundle of pure energy. She LOVES the outdoors and playing with her big sister Chloe, our 10-year-old dog. We live in a neighborhood with lots of people and pets walking by our backyard, and Remi races to the fence to greet them all and get her pets and love.
Unfortunately, during all this running and jumping to greet the neighborhood, Remi tore her ACL. We noticed her limping but brushed it off as pain from recent vaccinations. After a couple of weeks, however, she didn’t want to put weight on either of her back legs and had started to decline in her activity levels. Now, she limps to the fence to greet the neighbors, laying on the ground instead of eagerly standing to greet her neighbor friends. We took her to the vet, and they confirmed that Remi had somehow managed to tear BOTH ACLs and would require a VERY expensive & complicated surgery to correct this: Bilateral TPLO. Surgery in both legs with a 12-week strict recovery.
We are responsible pet parents and have always set aside funds for surprise vet bills, but this time we are falling short. You see, our senior dog, Chloe, has been battling cancer, and her tumor removal surgeries have us falling short. Chloe has had cancerous tumors removed from her belly, thigh, neck, and jaw. As you can imagine, that has cost a small fortune. Remi’s surgery is estimated to cost $7,400! She needs this surgery urgently to avoid even more permanent damage. We currently have her wearing supportive braces to help her until her surgery date. Not only will the surgery be costly, but the equipment needed during recovery, the physical therapy, and ongoing X-rays and vet visits, along with her humans having to take some time off work, will also pile onto the costs.
We never expected to need help with our dogs, but here we are. If you can donate, we will be forever grateful, and if you can’t, please share this fundraiser. You never know who might be able to help a dog in need. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for your time. Please keep our Remi girl in your thoughts as we navigate this long road to recovery.
