Support Reka’s cancer and pregnancy journey

As some of you may or may not know, Reka Ponder was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer while also in her second trimester of pregnancy.

After numerous visits to the hospital in June and July, a biopsy in late August confirmed cancer (on her birthday). Reka has been at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego the past month now, under the amazing guidance of the OB/GYN, colorectal, oncology and nursing teams.

Baby Jack, now 28 weeks old, is doing well so far, so the goal is to let him grow as long as possible. However, he will need to be delivered in the coming weeks so that Reka can begin more intensive bouts of both chemo and radiation and then, ultimately, surgery to remove the tumor and spreading cancer.

With the given treatments, medical care, hospital stays, medical supplies, and all that this journey entails, the financial costs are quickly surmounting. Especially with the Ponders now being temporarily relocated to San Diego from Idaho (where their business is located) for at least a year for medical care…..are needing our support more than ever. They were hesitant to do this, but we encouraged them to accept this offer of both financial and spiritual aid because that’s what family, friends and our brothers and sisters in Christ are all about.

We are asking that you prayerfully consider donating to this fund, as this is a year-long journey of intensive medical care.

More importantly, whether you can or cannot give, the best thing you can do is PRAY.
