Hi,

My name is Kelsey, and I’m Reilly’s younger sister. I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this but today, I’m reaching out to our friends, family, and community to support my sister as she faces the unimaginable: a diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer.

In early June, Reilly found a lump in her breast and immediately sought medical care. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma that has spread to her lymph nodes. Her cancer is triple-negative — one of the most aggressive forms — and genetic testing revealed she carries the BRCA1 mutation, which makes the cancer even more difficult to treat.

Because of the nature of her diagnosis, Reilly's medical team is treating her cancer aggressively. She’s currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy infusions, which will continue through mid-December. After chemo, she will need multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy, followed by radiation and likely a partial or full hysterectomy. She’s already lost all of her hair and is enduring painful side effects from treatment.

Reilly and her husband, Mikey, are two of the kindest and most generous people I know. They are the type to give the shirts off their backs without hesitation. They would never ask for help themselves which is why I’m asking for them. The reality is, medical bills are piling up, and day-to-day expenses are becoming overwhelming.

Both Reilly and Mikey work in sales and rely heavily on commission. Reilly does not qualify for short- or long-term disability through her job and is only able to work on the days she feels physically capable. Mikey has also had to take time off to support Reilly and accompany her to appointments. Our family is doing everything we can to help, but we’re spread across the country and what they need most right now is financial relief.
