Hello everyone,
Regun battled osteosarcoma starting in October of 2023. By December of 2024 he had a left leg above knee amputation.
We then continued 7 more months of inpatient chemotherapy for 5 days in a row every two weeks.
Our last round of chemo was April of 2024.
In May of this year we learned his cancer has spread to his lungs. We spent most of June at Mayo as he underwent 2 lung surgeries only two weeks apart. After all of that the scan showed they had already grown back. We also learned from a kidney biopsy that he has a very rare genetic kidney disease. So not only did the chemo damage his kidneys the underlying condition that we didn’t know about was no help.
He is now doing oral chemo at home. Not the ideal treatment, but in order for his kidneys to survive it was a good choice. With all of that being said, taking care of Regun has been a 24/7 job and working has not been an option. His next scans will be in September to see if we can shrink the tumors or at least keep them at bay.
Any donations or shares of the post are greatly appreciated!!! Please keep this young man in your prayers.
Thank you,
Donahue family
