“Our Game in the Bush.” That’s how Allan Parrott described country baseball—a game he championed, nurtured, and loved with every fibre of his being.

As we mourn the passing of a giant of Australian baseball, we also honour his legacy by ensuring the game he dedicated his life to continues to grow—especially in the regional communities he held so dear.

The Allan Parrott Baseball Foundation has been established to support young baseball players from regional and rural areas in New South Wales and beyond. Its mission is to provide financial assistance and opportunities for talented country players who often face barriers due to distance, funding, and access to development programs.

Allan believed in opening doors for others. Over decades of service as a coach, mentor, and life member of Baseball NSW, he created opportunities for hundreds of athletes—not just in Australia, but internationally. Whether it was a hard truth in the dugout, a clipboard flying in frustration, or quiet encouragement in a moment of doubt, Al always led with passion, integrity, and an unshakeable belief in the potential of his players.

This foundation is our way of continuing that legacy.
