Support Reggie and Jolee Schorzman: Help Us Give Back During Their Time of Need
Dear Friends, Family, and Extended Community,
We are reaching out to you during a time of great need for our dear friends, Reggie and Jolee Schorzman. If you’ve had the privilege of knowing Reggie and Jolee, you know that their generosity and kindness has contributed to many unforgettable memories and always involved in tear-inducing laughter. They have shared so much with all of us—whether it’s been a trip down the river, a meal surrounded by great company, or just catching up at the local hangout. They’ve been our steadfast companions and champions through our own joys and struggles.
As many of you are aware, Reggie and Jolee have been navigating a challenging journey, plagued by unexpected twists and turns. Through it all, they’ve remained their tenacious, positive selves, never letting their burdens weigh heavy on any of us. Their unwavering grace and fighting spirit have convinced us all that this too shall pass and that all will be well.
Unfortunately, their journey has recently taken a more difficult turn. While attempting to take friends out to enjoy a day of rafting and recreation, Reggie injured his leg. Never one to cast a dark cloud over anyone else’s fun, he made a quick trip to the urgent care for what seemed like a minor injury—just a few stitches and some antibiotics— and returned to the river to send everyone on the trip without him while he waited at the takeout to load the raft and return everyone else safely back to Boise. Unfortunately, that seemingly minor injury has since quickly escalated, requiring two surgeries and a hospital stay in over the past week. And as if that weren’t enough, Jolee, who has endured numerous serious hospitalizations and is facing the need for a life-saving liver transplant due to her Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (A1 or AAT), is back in the hospital.
As Jolee was preparing for Reggie’s discharge, running around and engaging her super-human ability to go above and beyond, their situation took yet another heartbreaking turn. Jolee, who was supposed to pick up Reggie from the hospital, suffered a sudden complication and was found unresponsive in their garage. First responders rushed her back to the hospital, where Reggie, discharged to take a short elevator ride to the emergency department to be by her side. This latest scare resulted in Jolee being readmitted to the hospital, and the challenges they face continue to mount.
We’re all sending out our positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers, hoping for a smoother path ahead. But with so many unknowns, it’s time for us to step up and help carry some of the weight of this journey. Jolee’s health has already prevented her from working, and now, with Reggie’s recent challenges and Jolee’s latest hospitalization, he too must take time away from work to support Jolee and manage his own recovery, which will require significant follow-up care and physical therapy.
For years, Reggie and Jolee have been the first to lend a helping hand, offer love, and spread joy and intense laughter. Whether it was inviting friends to share in their love of the outdoors, volunteering their talents for local causes (Jolee is an amazing baker and artisan), or providing a warm meal and a sense of family, they have touched countless lives with their selflessness and generosity—always without asking for anything in return.
Now, it’s our turn to show them the same unwavering support. The road ahead is uncertain, and the financial strain they’re facing is significant. As they focus on healing, we want to help alleviate some of their stress by covering any uncovered medical bills, daily living expenses, and the loss of income during this difficult time. We know they would never ask for this help, but they shouldn’t have to.
Let’s come together as a community, just as Reggie and Jolee have always done for us. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact on their lives. Your donation will help them focus on what’s most important—getting better—without the added worry of financial hardship.
If you’re able, please consider donating, and share this page and let’s reach out to as many people as possible. Together, we can make a difference and give back our friends who have given so much to us. Your continued thoughts, love, and prayers are very much appreciated and mean a great deal to Reggie and Jolee- keep them coming.
Should there be any unneeded funds, they will be donated to the Rescue Mission to help others in need.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your kindness, generosity, and support.
