Support Regent's Fight Against Cancer- Part 2
Donation protected
Hello, I am Regent (Queen) and I am once again faced with the impacts of income insecurity and medical needs. After beating cancer in 2022-23; a recent mammogram of my left breast showed "abnormal" cells, which may be a precursor to breast cancer. In order to be sure, I must have surgery to remove more tissue to determine if cancer is present and remove the "abnormal" tissue. I also have a non-cancerous cyst that needs to be surgically removed in my right breast. As this news comes right after being laid-off from my position at Spirit Rock, I find myself slightly overwhelmed, yet very confident I will beat this again.
I am reaching out for support from my community, my village. One of the lessons I learned through beating cancer previously, is that I cannot and should not do this alone- my community has always been the medicine I need to thrive.
I ask for your support to:
- pay for medical bills (yes, I have insurance, and there are out of pocket costs- some I am still paying from last year.)
- pay for my therapist. cancer messes with your mind, I have a wonderful therapist who has seen me through some stuff, and will through this.
- and support living costs as I am currently unemployed.
Any amount and support is an investment in my magic being in the world longer. It is a payment toward reparations for living a lifetime in environments that increase the risk of cancer. It is a payment toward a bad-ass Black woman being able to contribute to wellness and sustainability in our communities.
All is welcome, humbly received, and deep gratitude for your believing in me as much as I do.
Thank you for all your love.
