Support Reed's Heart Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Reed and Beth Hamp. On April 30th, Reed was diagnosed with congestive Heart Failure at just 27yr old. He has been admitted in Alpena hospital since then, and is getting transferred to U of M as soon as there is a bed available. We are hopeful to get a second opinion at this next hospital and are working on getting him better so he can come home. As of right now, his heart function has gone from 5% up to 15%. The goal is to get his enlarged heart back down to regular size and to get his heart functioning properly again. We would like to get his heart function to at least 45% but the end goal is 60%. We are hoping to do this so that a heart transplant won’t be necessary. For now he has to stay in the hospital to be monitored and to be on meds that can help with his heart function. With all that being said, neither of us are working and are now off without pay for at least 4 months. And we aren’t sure if Reed will even be able to return to work once better. As a family of 5, we have many bills that need to be paid, on top of what medical bills and medications that our insurance may not cover. Any donation would be used to help pay for these things as well as helping with gas to travel back and forth once he is moved to a different hospital. It would also help to put our minds at ease so we can focus on the important part which is getting Reed better! Any donation is greatly appreciated.
