Help Reed Student Activists Avoid Felony Charges
Donation protected
Hello, we’re a group of Reed College students who have been organizing on-campus actions to fight for a ceasefire in Palestine. We come to you today with an urgent and incredibly important request.
In November, four of our friends and fellow Reedies were arrested at the Shut It Down for Palestine rally at the Portland World Trade Center. They’re currently facing charges of Felony Criminal Mischief and Trespassing and need to pay restitution of almost $16,000 to avoid several months of prison time and a permanent felony record. They will be paying as much as they can out of their own pockets, but even then this cost is well outside any of the students’ financial situations, so they’re turning to the community for help.
If you’re able, please give what you can to help these incredible members of our community continue to attend school and fight for peace and a free Palestine. All funds raised will go directly towards paying the restitution fine which the four arrested students are unable to afford.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration; it means the world to us.
