Support Recovery Journey from Rare Cancer

Hi friends, on April 28th I was diagnosed with an extremely rare and incredibly aggressive triple negative metaplastic cancer. I am currently 7 weeks into a 6 month chemo program, with breast removal and reconstructive surgery, ovary removal surgery, and 6 months of radiation to follow. Because I recently started a new job, I do not qualify for FMLA protections or most Short Term Disability Leave, so I am also managing full time treatment without reliable transportation, and working full time. I am currently showing strong signs of recovering, but after paying for treatment and having to take unpaid time off,
money is extremely tight and I cannot justify any “luxury” purchases that would improve the quality of my care/life, and also help a bit with my mental health. Currently I am looking for help funding:

A real hair wig purchase - I am allergic to synthetic fibers so I would have to spend more than a more affordable option

Rideshare funding - I currently take two max trains to a majority of my appointments, an over an hour commute one way with a more than a mile walk to and from stations, this is very difficult on me in my current state. Friends have stepped up and are giving me rides as often as they can, but I sometimes have 6-7 appointments a week and it is not realistic for other working adults to drop everything for those appointments.

A mattress topper - I have been sleeping on the same mattress since I was a freshman in highschool, it’s old and needs to be replaced, but that is not within the budget, so I would like to try to get something to help with the comfort. I experience 7/10 pain at all times, and it is worse in bed.

Other misc. costs - trying to repair my car, increasing my grocery budget, a pair of orthopedic sneakers, more chemo friendly clothing, etc.

Thank you for reading and sharing my story.
