My name is Charlie Smith, and I am reaching out during the most challenging time of my life. On Aug 13th 2025, my life changed overnight when a cavernous malformation inflamed in my spine causing paralysis from the chest down.

In an instant, my independence was stripped away, and I was faced with a new, overwhelming reality. Before this injury, I was a very active, independent person. Now, I am navigating the immense physical and emotional hurdles of being wheelchair-bound. I am currently in rehab at Baylor Frisco, and while I am fighting to regain movement, the road ahead is long, unpredictable, and expensive.

While insurance helps, it does not cover the specialized care, equipment, and therapies I urgently need to maximize my recovery. I am trying to raise funds for:

• Intensive neurological physical therapy

• Home modifications

• A specialized wheelchair and medical equipment
