Support Recovery: Help Fund Vital Rehab Bike

As some of you may know, I have been very sick since the end of October 2024. It all began with an infection in my upper abdominal area which originated from within. Within a few days of being hospitalized and diagnosed, I was told my body was septic as the infection had spread to my blood stream. I was placed on several antibiotics and sent home after several days in the hospital, on home health with IV antibiotics.

Soon after that, and after weeks of not getting better and excruciating pain, , I was hospitalized again. This time they found that the infection from my blood had seated in my spine. After being hospitalized for quite some time again, I spent several more weeks on home health and antibiotics through a pic line at home.

Again after several weeks of IV antibiotics, and at that time well over 2 months of intense pain, I was hospitalized and was transferred to Methodist Hospital in Houston. Upon arriving there it was found that the infection in my spine had gotten considerably worse, and required surgery on my back to clean out the infection. Surgery was set for January 7th. However, on January 5th, I lost the ability to move my right leg or foot. Therefore my surgery was moved to emergency status and was done on the 5th.

Now to the reason I am needing help. The surgery I had was major back surgery. I have a metal cage around my spine, I had several vertebrae fused and rods and screws throughout. The Neurosurgeon stated that the infection had eaten my spine and it appeared to be jelly like upon opening it up. I am now on the road to recovery, slowly and very painfully. I have started physical and occupational therapy. I have been told by my Neurosurgeon, my physical therapist, and my occupational therapist, that this bike is the absolute best rehabilitation for my back surgery. As you can see, it is very expensive $1454.99 right now on sale. I really need to get it to keep my recovery moving forward, but need your help. Anything you can give, no matter how big or small, the help is needed and appreciated.
