My 15 year old son, Max, was in a motorcycle accident on March 1. I am a single mom of 2 boys, the younger one has Down Syndrome. We are devastated and overwhelmed with the injuries and pain he is in.

Max has always had a dream to ride motorcycles. When he was 14 he immediately got a work permit and started saving up money. In 2026 at the end of January he bought a motorcycle. Max is an intelligent kiddo and started learning fast. He road everyday and built his skills quickly.

On March 1st he decided to ride the Ortega highway. He was looking for a road similar to Santiago Canyon, as he always practiced on that road. His ride was going great and the car travelling behind him noted he was riding safely. As he rounded a curve, an oncoming motorcycle came into his lane and hit him head on.

Max is currently in the pediatric ICU. Although he was wearing full gear, he suffered a dislocated shoulder and hip, broken humerus, fractured hip, shattered knee cap, broken tibia, and bruised lung.
