Support Recovery for Jim Mamola

Thank you for reading this, I am Jim’s oldest daughter and on his behalf I am setting up a fund to help him while he recovers from a major injury. He was riding his bike on January 3rd, enjoying the sunset on the river with my brother James when he had his accident. Fortunately my awesome brother acted quickly and one ambulance ride and X-ray later, they confirmed he had a severe neck fracture. By some miracle, his spinal cord was not damaged and his helmet protected his head. We have been oscillating between concern and profound gratefulness ever since. He has been through a successful surgery to repair six of his neck vertebrae and will probably WALK out of the hospital tomorrow. That said, he has a long painful recovery ahead of him. His kids are currently setting up his home to be accessible for him, but he will need significant care, medical equipment, meals and support for the next three months. He will also have hospital and ambulance bills that insurance won’t cover.
