Support Recovery for Donnelly Field Shooting Victim
Donation protected
On May 23, there was a shooting at Donnelly Field . One of the victims that night was 22 year-old Aleyana.
Aleyana was a bystander and suffered 2 gunshot wounds to the leg. She will be recovering for at least the next couple of months. Because of this, she will be unable to report to work at her job at the Fletcher Maynard School and at the after-school program in Cambridgeport School. And because she works part-time at both programs, her access to benefits will be limited.
Aley works as a lunch aid at the Fletcher Maynard School where she also attended elementary school. At Cambridgeport Community School, she co-leads the JK/K classroom. She loves working with the kids who want to have fun and learn so much. Her favorite part of work is hearing the kids ask questions and laughing, and knowing that she is doing her part to make our community a better place for everyone. Anyone who works with her or is in her classroom would describe her as sweet, kind, and playful.
She has been working at the schools for over 3 years and has been a part of the Cambridge community nearly her entire life. Had she not been injured, she would be getting ready to teach for the summer program at the Community School.
Please support Aley and her family as they recover from this horrifying incident.
