Support & Recovery for Curt Schmitz

One week ago tomorrow, Wednesday, July 6th, my brother took off on his first long ride pilgrimage to come to see me in Florida. With high spirits and excitement, we talked and prepared for his trip. He only made it to St Louis, MO.

Thursday morning Amie, his wife, got the police call that he was in an accident and they were taking him to Mercy Hospital. We would learn eventually that he broke his arm and leg. It could have been MUCH worse, we are thankful to still have him.

The surgeries were long, complicated, and took what seemed like forever. When the doctor talked to Amie he told her it could take months to heal and that he needs to do physical therapy. He is still in the hospital today, July 5th.

Those of you that know Curt, know he is the first to offer help, even to a stranger. He and his family will need your help now to offset the expenses they are still incurring, the loss of work for potentially months, and the expense of physical therapy. Encouraging words and thoughts for him and his family for a successful recovery.
