Support Medical Recovery for a Young Marine Conservationist

Urgent! Call to action!

This was me on an eco-tour right before I had a sudden, severe injury and spent five weeks completely bedridden while waiting to have lower back surgery. I was unable to walk or do any daily duties, and the concern was that I’d end up with partial paralysis. My surgery was successful but I have a very long road ahead while I’m recovering.

I recently found a way to channel my lifelong passion for conservation into action by starting a small business, a snorkeling eco-tour company, and our goal is to be there on the ground (or technically in the water) to see where our efforts are most needed. We dream of offering paid internships to marine biology students. However, my doctor’s orders say I can’t swim for another six weeks so all of a sudden I have no income, nor have I since my injury happened six weeks ago. This dream I’ve worked so hard to build is in jeopardy while I pay off my medical bills.

I’m so young to have a severely hurt back, only 33, and this has been so traumatic. Please help keep me afloat so I can get back out there protecting and advocating for the ocean! Thank you in advance!
