My friends Tim and Julie Moore were recently hit with a heavy hand, Julie was diagnosed with a tumor called pseudomyxoma peritonei and an appendiceal carcinoma. This "pseudomyxoma peritonei" filled her abdomen completely and at the end of August, she underwent major surgery with removal of several organs and intra-operative chemotherapy. Although the tumor was removed, there is concern for recurrence and she has 24 weeks of chemotherapy ahead as part of the long road of treatment and recovery.

As you know, the Moore's are a close, kind and giving family, extremely involved in the community and the lives of their children and children's friends. They are devasted by Julie's diagnoses and what lies ahead.

Julie has had her family present since the time of surgery to help with the day-to-day cooking and cleaning. Her husband, Tim, is a local business owner and has taken off as much time as he can afford but needs to work to continue medical benefits and income for their family during this trying time. They are insured; however, with a hospital stay over a week, major surgery, four separate episodes requiring general anesthesia, and a several-day ICU stay, they are going to be swamped by medical bills. In an effort to help the Moore's focus on what's important - Julie's treatment and recovery and not on bills, I am requesting donations on their behalf.
