Support Recovery: Easing Medical Burden

Greetings:

As some of you already know, I've had a very difficult year health-wise. On November 29, 2023, I had a fall that put me in the hospital. I tore the gluteal tendon of my right hip and the IT band, my right deltoid muscle, the right rotator cuff, and sustained a concussion. I have had myriad medical tests (X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, etc.) and many different types of treatments, including injections, nerve blocking, concussion therapy, vestibular therapy, and physical therapy, which I am still in twice a week. For 10 months, I could not go shopping, do laundry, clean my house or myself, go up and down stairs, drive a car, play guitar, use a computer, or read (because of the concussion), or live anything resembling a normal life. I need to use a cane to walk and still cannot do many things. The ortho specialist I have been seeing has told me that my hip may never be fully recovered. My medical bills have surpassed $100,000, and my out-of-pocket co-pay has already exceeded $10,000 and continues to grow. I expect to be in treatment well into 2025.

Recently, I was also diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), which causes rapid and irregular heartbeat. I am undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and other testing to determine whether any kind of heart surgery is necessary. This, of course, adds to the bills I have already mentioned.

I am not asking for the full amount of my co-pay, but only a portion of it to ease my burden. I am literally in the position of having to make monthly decisions between food and medical/pharmaceutical bills.

I desperately need the help of my friends and anyone else who can aid my cause.

Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated, and I will try my best, once I can adequately play guitar again, to finish a CD of instrumentals I started before this tragedy and will send it to donors.
