Support Recovery and Rebuilding After Tragic Loss

Hello to all of my family and friends. It's not often that I have ever found myself in great need for much of anything. I have always been very blessed and considerably fortunate with most aspects of my life. Combine this with the unwavering love and support of my family, friends, and community; God has always seen me through what little adversity I have seemed to face. Well, you know what they say about that, all good things must come to an end. Cue the year 2024! This year has been a particularly challenging one for me. A lot of the seemingly little problems from years past, unbeknownst to me, had been building up to this moment in time. For those unaware, I have been dealing with some health issues for the past few years. These issues, from causes unknown, were causing my blood to prematurely clot. These clots were wreaking havoc upon large portions of my body. They ultimately caused DVTs in both legs, innumerable PEs in my lungs, an infarct in my right upper lobe, damage to my liver, and nearly ended with a thrombolytic MI on April 21st of this year. An incident at the tender age of 37, that left me in the Cardiac ICU for 3 days, ICU for another 2 days, and permanent loss of nearly 25% of my heart's function. Battered, bruised, but not broken and still yet determined. I picked up the pieces and pushed forward. After a battery of tests and the guidance of many doctors, I had made great strides in beginning to bring back a sense of normality to my always chaotic life. In the coming months, I was adjusting to the changes I had made and the changes life had made for me. But life wasn't done kicking me just yet! Around this time every year, I take some time and I go visit family in Montana. It's a wonderful getaway that I look forward to each and every year. This visit, as all visits in the past, was more amazing than the last. After an eventful week of logging hundreds of miles of roads, paths, and trails, we returned to home base to unwind before more adventures the next day. In the early morning hours of September 14, I was awakened by an unfamiliar number with a familiar area code, so I answered it. On the other end of this line, I was greeted by the local authorities back home. They were standing in front of my house and announced to me that my home was completely enveloped in flames. That the home and all of its contents were a complete and total loss. Devastated and distraught, I spent the next few days making a flurry of phone calls and emails attempting to find answers and a path back to sanity. This ultimately brings us to now. I'd like to thank those now who have made it this far, and encourage you to stay just a little longer. As you can imagine, each of these events on their own would be rather challenging to traverse. However, the combined burdens of these life-altering events have left me feeling that I may need some help. The sobering reality that everything I own can now fit in a single suitcase is a tough pill to swallow. One doesn't realize how many little things we use in life to string together a normal day until those things are gone! While the seemingly painful and lengthy insurance process takes place, I'm looking for assistance in filling the gaps. I know times are tough, but any help no matter how small at this point would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to thank those of you who have taken the time and helped me already. Those of you who can't afford to donate, don't worry you can still be very helpful. Please take the time to share my story with others as the more people we reach, the more likely we are to reach our goal. Again, to all, thank you and God bless!
