Seeking Temporary Assistance After Medical Emergency in South Carolina

I’m reaching out because I’m going through a difficult situation and could use some guidance or temporary assistance.

Back in 2021, I had brain surgery to remove a tumor, followed by radiation treatments. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to recover and rebuild my life. Recently, I experienced a seizure while driving to work here in South Carolina. Thankfully I wasn’t seriously injured, but it’s left me unable to work until further notice.

The seizure actually happened while I was clocked in, but since I’ve only been at my job for about a month, I was told I don’t qualify for unemployment or disability benefits yet. I’m not sure if this seizure is related to my past brain surgery and treatments, but it’s added a lot of uncertainty to my situation.

Right now, I’m struggling to cover essentials like rent, utilities, and groceries. I’ve applied for state assistance, but those programs take time to process, and I’m trying to make it through the gap
