Support Recovery After Job Loss and Injury

I found out today that the cost of the surgery is estimated at over $22,000. I’m beyond devastated.

I recently lost my job of almost 20 years without warning.

Found another job 3 weeks later, but after only a week back at work, I fell and broke my kneecap in half. I can’t walk without a walker. Surgery is scheduled, but I’m looking at at least 8 weeks out of work. I have no insurance and don’t get financial assistance from the government. I’m trying to apply for Medicaid, but that’s gonna take some time.

The ambulance ride, the ER visit, the Orthopedic Surgeon, the hospital bill for the surgery... all of it’s piling up, and we’re already stretched thin with me being out of work. My husband is on a fixed income (SS) and has no way of making extra money. I have cats that I’m worried about feeding and providing litter for.

I’ve never asked for help in my life and hate to do it now, but I’m desperate. Anything will be greatly appreciated, and I will be forever grateful. If you can’t help, I completely understand and just ask for your prayers. Thank you.
