In the wake of the devastation from Hurricane Melissa, my family and I are completely heartbroken.

My Grandad, Basil, and several family members live in St. Elizabeth, Black River – Parottee District, one of the areas hit hardest by the storm. Homes have been severely damaged, lives disrupted, and communities left to pick up the pieces.

My Grandad has lost everything, his home, his personal belongings, and the sense of security we all deserve.

Over the years, he poured his heart and hard work into building not only his home, but also his local business, Basil’s Bar & Seafood Restaurant, a space that served the community, welcomed tourists and represented his livelihood.

Today, both are gone.

We are now doing everything we can to support him and our family during this incredibly difficult time and we’re asking for your help to begin rebuilding what was lost.
