Emergency Help to Restore Transportation After Job Loss
In October, after surviving an abusive relationship that caused significant financial and personal upheaval, I was finally able to secure reliable transportation again. I paid $2,800 down on a rent-to-lease vehicle, and the biweekly payments were manageable. Having a car represented independence, safety, and a step forward in rebuilding my life.
The day after I got the vehicle, I unexpectedly lost my job.
Since then, I’ve been applying relentlessly — including to roles I am overqualified for — while also navigating the ongoing legal process related to the abuse I survived. The cumulative impact of trauma, job loss, and instability has made this period especially difficult, but I have continued pushing forward and actively pursuing employment.
Because I fell behind on payments during this period of unemployment, my vehicle was repossessed this week. I have until December 29 to pay $980 to have it reinstated.
Reliable transportation is critical for returning to work and maintaining stability. This is a one-time request to help bridge the gap while I interview and work toward re-employment. Regaining my car means being able to show up — for work, for healing, and for the future I am actively trying to rebuild.
Any support or sharing is deeply appreciated.
